| The main goal of the subject is acquiring the knowledge and skills of the design, dimensioning, strength and stiffness calculations of the mechanical parts and basic mechanical transmissions. |

| Course Contents |
|---|
The subject deals with a design and loading capacity calculations of basic machine parts. It concerns permanent and detachable joints:
- threaded connections (included motion screws)
- keys and pins
- shaped joints
- press fitted joints and friction clamps
- riveted joints
- welded joints
- bonded joints.
Then it deals with a parts and mechanisms of machine drives as are shafts, bearings, shaft couplings and brakes, transmissions using gearing, chain and belt
