Finished higher education in Bachelor's degree programme.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VŠB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
This field of study is based on the synergy of economic theory, knowledge of economic practices, methods and tools of industrial management and the necessary technical and technological knowledge of metallurgical, chemical and mechanical engineering production. The principles of process-oriented and logically oriented integrated management of industry - production entity are reflected in all phases and spheres of strategic, tactical and operational management. The emphasis is placed on management of changes and innovation, while respecting the methodological base of decision making under risk and uncertainty conditions. Financial management as an element of the curriculum provides financial literacy of a graduate in a global sense. Interpretation of personnel management provides foundations for awareness about the crucial role of human factors in the economy of industrial entrepreneurial subjects.

Knowledge:
- Industrial company as an economic system with complicated endogenous and exogenous material and value relationships which must be respected by managerial decisions. - Understanding and quantification of these relationships through modelling and multi-criteria evaluation of their status, changes and the expected development. - Production planning and scheduling. - Exact methods of decision-making and computer environment of methodologies for supporting the management decision-making. - Management of asset and capital structure of the industrial company (company and banking, loans, leasing, receivables, factoring and forfeiting), financial analysis. - Economic diagnostics, evaluation of entrepreneurial subjects. - Process management and industrial logistics, the theory of constraints and its practical application in the logistically driven processes. - Principles and methods of project management, functions and personal profile of the project manager.
Skills:
- Creation of the concept of entrepreneurial subject strategy (continuous planning) using the methodological elements of industrial marketing. - Identification and solution of bottlenecks in the logistics chain - using the theory of constraints. - Forming and managing a working team, argument evaluation of the teamwork results. - The application of exact methods of decision making and methods of artificial intelligence in the search for optimal solutions of the given problem.
General competencies:
- Independent decision-making on issues related to changes in internal or external entrepreneurial environment, with the knowledge of direct responsibility for the consequences of the decision - in broader economic context. - Assigning special tasks to subordinate employees, evaluation and reward for their performance levels. - Ability to deal with people according to their work performance and social status, with the personality profile. - Ability to present economic and managerial competence in at least one foreign language. - Support and create conditions of continuous education.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
The contents of the economic and managerial training creates conditions for competent application not only in the sphere of industrial and entrepreneurial activity management, but also in various other areas of industrial practice - in financial, marketing, design, and research institutions and other activities.

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
