Informal learning - max. 60% of credits gained in prior lifelong learning can be recognized, as determined by the Dean of the Faculty.

Qualification Requirements:
Finished higher education in Bachelor's degree programme.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
The aim of the specialization Management is to prepare qualified specialists who will be able to perform specialized jobs and managerial positions at the middle and upper levels of management. The study is structured and focused so that the graduates will have the knowledge and skills that will enable them to successfully solve their management problems, manage themselves, teams and entire organizations with an emphasis on the ethical dimension of management. Graduates will find employment in enterprises of various sizes, ownership or legal forms, in manufacturing and non-production sectors, in state administration and advisory organizations or as founders and owners of the enterprise.

Knowledge:
The main aim of the study is to acquire knowledge in the following areas: - strategic management, - economics and enterprise management, - Human Resource Management, - trends in management, - business ethics and corporate social responsibility, - crisis management, - organizational behavior, - business law.
Skills:
- understanding the principles of strategic management and strategic decision making, - performing strategic analysis and developing strategic plans, - decision-making in the area of economic and financial management of the company, - understanding the personnel strategy, the personnel processes and activities and the way they are implemented, - evaluating the effectiveness of a systematic approach to work with human resources, - overview of current trends in management, - understanding the requirements and specifics of intercultural management, - Human resources management in multinational companies with regard to the cultural environment of employees, - orientation in sources of ethical thinking and tools of business ethics and social responsibility of organization and measures for institutionalization of ethics in organizations, - understanding ethical issues and their interrelations within the business ethics at the global, corporate and individual level, - understanding individual and group behavior that affect the organization's goals, - the ability to develop a crisis plan as part of the prevention of crisis situations in an enterprise, - the ability to apply legislation in business.
General competencies:
- transfer the acquired knowledge and skills in solving practical management tasks, - organizing and coordinating the team to solve the assigned task, - analysis and benchmarking of problems in order to select the optimal solution based on economic, personnel, managerial, material and ethical criteria, - identification of business practice problems, - development of study skills and interest in the studied subject with regard to the possible follow-up master study, - use of expertise, skills and general competence in at least one foreign language.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
In general, the graduates of study specialization Management be ready for the work of independent specialists - specialists, who perform the function of managers at middle and higher levels. Typical job positions: - economist in the corporate sphere, - HR generalist, - HR manager, - HR consultant, - HR business partner, - business manager, - office and administration manager, - regional manager, - head of the economic, operational and personnel department, - senior consultant in organization, economics and enterprise management, - a controlling and reporting specialist, - independent entrepreneur.

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
