Informal learning - max. 60% of credits gained in prior lifelong learning can be recognized, as determined by the Dean of the Faculty.

Finished secondary education with secondary school-leaving exam.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
The objective of the Management specialization is to prepare qualified experts with a broad economic overview who will be able to perform specialized management work, to solve both, standard and non-standard managerial tasks at lower and middle management level. The study is focused and profiled especially with regard to the employment of graduates in managerial positions, in economic and personnel departments in enterprises of various sizes, ownership or legal forms, in the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors, in the state administration or as founders and owners of an enterprise.

Knowledge:
- managerial methods and techniques, - managerial skills, - Human Resource Management, - managerial psychology and sociology, - business economics, - production and service management, - management of a family business, - trade, business, labor, social law and economic criminality.
Skills:
- understanding of the systematic and analytical methods and techniques used in individual areas of management, - application of managerial skills, - performing personnel activities using staffing techniques and methods, - evaluation of the effectiveness of methods, techniques and processes of human resources management, - understanding psychological and sociological knowledge, approaches and methods used in management and personnel management, - orientation in the economy and financial management of the company's activities, - performing a standard economic analysis of the company's business, - understanding accounting and financial reporting and tax related issues, - applying and evaluating the process of manufacturing and service management in the field of production, organization and planning, standardization and human resources, - practical application to establish a business and its management focused on issues of family business, - orientation in legal institutes, and business regulations.
General competencies:
The professional qualification of a graduate of Management specialization includes the ability to perform specialized management tasks, to solve both standard and non-standard managerial tasks at the lower and middle management level. These are primarily knowledge and skills in HR administration, human resources, data analysis, project management, and business. The graduate has excellent ability to make general judgment about the problem, as well as excellent oral communication or communication skills in the form of presentations. Graduates are able to communicate comprehensibly and convincingly and to present to experts and the general public their own professional opinions in at least one foreign language. The graduate is very well prepared for further education in the follow-up study.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
The study is focused and profiled especially with regard to the application of graduates in managerial positions, in economic and personnel departments in enterprises of various sizes, ownership or legal forms, in the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors, in the public administration or as founders and owners of an enterprise. Typical positions of the graduate of this specialization are HR administrator, personnel specialist, work coordinator, reporting specialist, process specialist, junior data analysis specialist, head of unit, assistant director, junior project management consultant or independent entrepreneur.

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
