Summary
The instruction is intended for beginners. Its aim is to master the sound and graphic aspect of Russian (practicing Russian alphabet, pronunciation, stress, intonation), to acquire elementary knowledge of Russian grammar and vocabulary and using it while communication practice for everyday situation.
The aim is to acquire language skills with the output level A1-A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Acquiring general language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing at the elementary level - enriching vocabulary, learning grammar structures and practising them, practicing phrases in telephoning, adequate reactions to foreign language exposure, the ability to hold a monologue/dialogue.
Course Contents
Russian for self-learners and perpetual beginners. Units 10-14
1. How can I get to…? (Как добраться...?). Expressing need/neccessity in Russian.
2. Conjugation of verbs искать, вернуть/вернуться. Use of infinitive sentences. Formation of adverbs. Expression of approximity.
3. Let's go! (Поехали). Declension of nouns ending in -ий, -ия, -ие in singular.
4. Condition method. Declension of nouns ending in ж, ш, ч, щ, ц.
5. Let's go shopping! (Идем за покупками). Declension of adjectives in the singular.
6. Construction мне нужен/нужна/нужно/нужны. Verb timing любить а купить.
7. Basic numerals 200 and higher in the 1st case. Counted subject.
8. To the bar or to the gym? (В бар или в спортзал?). Verb tenses пить, есть.
9. Declension of masculine and feminine nouns in the plural.
10. Health above all (Здоровье прежде всего). Declension of nouns of the middle gender in the plural.
11. Formation of imperative method for the 2nd person singular and plural. Order for reflexive verbs.
12. Conjugation of the verb to write. The verb be in the past tense. The negative of the verb to have in Russian in the past and future tense.
13. Presentation. Credit test.
