Summary
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to understand and master process management including process modeling and simulation. Furthermore, to acquire basic skills in working with application software that supports modeling and simulation of processes in order to optimize them.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course is to understand and master process management including process modelling and simulation. The student will acquire basic skills in the analysis, simulation and optimization of business processes. In addition, the student will become practically familiar with application software that supports the modeling and simulation of business processes with the aim of their optimization.

Course Contents
1. Process and its basic characteristics, the importance of process improvement
2. The nature and importance of the process approach, functional versus process approach to organizational management.
3. Principles and techniques of process improvement.
4. Modelling of administrative and production processes, BPMN notation.
5. Monitoring, metrics and performance measurement and continuous process improvement.
6. Modern approaches to process performance evaluation.
7. Process team, functions, roles, process chain.
8. Organizational structures based on the process approach.
9. Introduction to modelling of real-time systems.
10. Application of the process approach and analysis in selected areas.
11. Requirements of ISO 9000 series standards in the area of process management.
12. Application of the process approach in selected areas.

Exercise content
Business process modelling in:
- VISIO environment using BPMN notation (static model);
- Attis environment (static model)
- Witness environment (dynamic simulation model)
