Summary
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will make the acquaintance of foundation of organization control and running.
They will learn system approach to solving organization and strategic problems in an enterprise.
They will learn to see the whole picture of the problem.
They will be able to formulate, analyze and solve the problem on the real data.
They will be able to process and interpret information which are needed for company management.
Course Contents
1. Organization and management theory.
2. System approach, systems engineering, system analysis and synthesis. Fundamental terminology.
3. Organizing process on an enterprise level. Organization structures.
4. Organization problems and their solution. Importance of information in the process of solving problem.
5. Mental maps and SW tools supporting solving problem.
6. Proceedings and decision making. Strategic analyses - PEST and SWOT analyses.
7. Strategy formation. BSC method.
8. Efficiency evaluation in an organization - methods, tools, SW support.
9. Data organization - a structure of data sets, variables types, frequency table, charts.
10. Preparing the data file - screening and cleaning the data, coding values,
variables transformation. Practise using SPSS.
11. Descriptive statistics. Exploratory analysis, unusual values, using graphs to explore the data.
12. Hypothesis testing.
13. Simple linear regression - the principle, influential and outlying values, interpolation, extrapolation.
14. Practical tasks from data analysis.
