Finished higher education in Bachelor's degree programme.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Programme
The aim of the Economics and Management field of study is to prepare professionals with a wide profile in the field of economics, management and law, both for the business sphere and for other types of organizations. Graduates are profiled in a comprehensive way to be able to perform independent economic and management activities related to the establishment, operation and development of an organization. A common basis for the formation of the graduate's expertise is knowledge of economics, law, economics and business management, strategic management, and mathematical and statistical methods. This foundation is further developed in the specialized subjects of individual specializations. In cooperation with the practice, theoretical knowledge during the course of study is applied to situations from a real environment. The Economics and Management field of study has three specializations: Business Economics, Management, Economics and Law in Business.

The main aim of the study is to acquire knowledge in the following areas: - economic and financial management, - business diagnostics and its performance, - management of large corporations, - logistics management including supply chain management, - quality control, - consultancy in the field of economy and business management, - different forms of business including international environment, - setting up, managing and developing your own business in a digitized environment, - innovation management in an enterprise, - managerial decision-making methods, - strategic management, - Human Resource Management, - trends in management, - business ethics and corporate social responsibility, - crisis management, - organizational behavior, - legislation regulating business, - financial law, capital market law, - tax law, both substantive and procedural, - intellectual property rights, - the insurance policy of commercial insurance in business practice, - EU law and international trade law, - business of foreign entities in the Czech Republic.

- qualified decision-making in the area of economic and financial management of an enterprise, - identifying, analyzing and solving business problems, - business process planning and management, - solving managerial decision-making tasks, - establishment and management of the business, - performing business diagnostics and uncovering the potential for improvement, - applying quality improvement and logistics procedures and methods, - evaluation of investment projects, - understanding the principles of strategic management and strategic decision making, - performing strategic analysis and developing strategic plans, - understanding the personnel strategy, the personnel processes and activities and the way they are implemented, - evaluating the effectiveness of a systematic approach to work with human resources, - orientation in current trends in management, - understanding the requirements and specifics of intercultural management, - Human resources management in multinational companies with regard to the cultural environment of employees, - orientation in sources of ethical thinking and tools of business ethics and social responsibility of organization and measures for institutionalization of ethics in organizations, - understanding ethical issues and their interrelations within the business ethics at the global, corporate and individual level, - understanding individual behavior and behavior in groups that affect the organization's goals, - developing a crisis plan as part of the prevention of crisis situations in an enterprise, - the application of business law, - identifying the factual, economic and legal status of the problem in practice, - analyzing the problem and applying legal/economic solutions to it, including defining threats and opportunities, using the legal/economic tools that best respond to them, - understanding legal texts and legal proceedings, - creating legal action, using appropriate legal terminology, - assessing the resulting obligations and drawing practical recommendations in the commitment law, - orientation in the issues of three levels of relations in the field of international trade, - understanding the continuity of EU regulation in relation to individual entrepreneurs, - orientation in international business transactions, - analyzing the insurance program, the insurance contract and the insurance conditions, - evaluation of the offered insurance products in terms of their risk and feasibility, - processing of basic submissions to tax administration bodies, orientation in the tax system, - conducting comprehensive analytical and conceptual work on consumer protection in the financial market, - orientation in the protection of personal data, - analyzing the protection of business secrets and know-how.
