Summary
Fundamental principles of design and assessment of structural elements. Stress
and strain analysis after 1st order theory. Introduction of applications according to 2nd order theory. Elastic-plastic behaviour of materials.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students manage the design and assessment of the structural elements with respect to basic types of stresses. Determination of the reactions and internal forces on the simple statically indetermined structures is managed.

6. Bending.
7. Shear.
8. Deflections of beams: integration of deflection curve.
9. Deformation of beams: Mohr method.
10. Introduction to plane stress problem.
11. Elastic stability.
12. Elastic and elastic-plastic behaviour of materials.
