Summary
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of subject is following: -
- determination and description of rock environment used as foundation soil;
- understanding of rock cycle and formation of rock massif;
- understanding of principles of endogenous and exogenous processes in rock environment;
- learning methods of investigation of rock environment for construction.
Course Contents
Lectures: Geology, the discipline, the role of geology in construction and other practices of the country in terms of current knowledge (structure of the Earth, plate tectonics) Basic components of the earth's crust - rocks and minerals properties of rocks and soils Rocks in building practice Geological structure magmatism exogenous processes Countries types and landforms, their use in practice basics of hydrogeology regional geology of the Czech Republic Exercise: rock-forming minerals, igneous rocks Sedimentary rocks metamorphic rocks geological compass geological brand Lambert display geological structure Design geological sections and maps geological maps
