Summary
Acoustic waves, sound field. Outdoor acoustics. Indoor acoustics, diffuse sound field, sound transmission between rooms, Air-borne sound insulation, structure-born sound insulation. Daylighting in buildings. Daylight factor D. Quality of daylighting, requirements. Insolation and requirements for insolation.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Knowledge: basic acoustic quantities, sound propagation, standard requirements.
Evaluation of daylighting and insolation in buildings.
Application: Calculation and evaluation of acoustic properties of structures. Calculation and evaluation of daylighting and insolation by software.
Course Contents
Lectures:
1st Daylighting Buildings - specific problems and requirements of different types of daylighting buildings - residential, commercial, industrial and specific (např.galerií). Lighting systems, day lighting design.
2nd Methods of calculation and measurement of daylighting buildings - a graphical method of calculation program (WDLS), measurement methods, examples of solutions.
3rd Policy design and implementation of associated lighting, lighting neosvětlitelných space, active and passive lighting systems.
4th Insolation buildings - the sun and its rays, the coordinates of the sun and solar beam geometry, the requirements for residential buildings and sunshine sunshine outdoor space.
5th Methods of calculating the sunshine of buildings and outdoor space - a graphical method of calculation program (SunLis).
6th The importance of insolation in urban planning, control of solar radiation
7th Acoustics - Perception of sound, acoustic immission values, limits, sources of sound in the living and working environment, quantity of acoustic emission. Sound propagation in the open and closed space, sound attenuation.
8th Construction of sound absorption.
9th Acoustics buildings - air-borne sound.
10th Acoustics of building structures - the sound of distributed structures. Measurement of acoustic properties of structures.
11th Room acoustics - wavelength, geometrical and statistical acoustics, optimum reverberation time.
12th Sound propagation in the ear canal, the sound of building equipment, stationary sound sources in urban acoustics.
13th Urban Acoustics - Noise from the road, measures against traffic noise

Exercise:
1st Daylighting buildings - light of the sky, photometric quantities, daylight factor, photometric properties of the terrain, shielding barriers, lighting and interior holes
2nd The calculation of daylight factor - Using WDLS
3rd Entering a program - the assessment of daylighting buildings (lighting technical report)
4th Insolation buildings - a graphical method of determining the period of sunshine, shading diagram
5th Computer simulation of sunshine buildings - Program SunLIS
6th Insolation outdoor spaces - a graphical method
7th Insolation outdoor spaces - Using SketchUp
8th Entering the program 2 - shading assessment of existing buildings and land
9th Acoustics - sound propagation in free space, the sound source, sound attenuation, attenuation of acoustic screens - Examples of calculation
10th Acoustics of building structures - airborne and impact sound insulation of building structures, sound transmission loss calculation method of operation, graphical method.

12th Room acoustics - the calculation of reverberation time, the program area, examples.
13th Measurement of airborne sound insulation of wall structures.
