Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The purpose of education should be to familiarize students with the possibilities of creating models of real objects and surfaces of technical practice using the freely-distributable funds and the preparation and optimization models for 3D printing.
Course Contents
1) Get acquainted with basic 3D printing technologies, available printers, 3D printing materials.
Parametric software for creating STL models and slicers.
2) Design and basic components of the 3D printer, its assembly and calibration.
Basic objects for modeling (cube, sphere, cylinder).
3) Preparing the print area, printing a simple object from the previous seminar.
Transformation (displacement, rotation, resizing).
4) Optimize wall thickness and fill of printed objects.
Set operations (unification, difference, penetration).
5) Support mechanisms for printing complex objects.
Modeling of hip roofs.
6) Cleaning the 3D printer.
Variables, cycle for, condition if.
7) Preparation of multi-material printing.
Linear and circle parameterization, extrusion tool.
8) Special printing materials.
Helix parameterization.
9) Preparation of serial printing.
Screw surfaces linear and cyclic.
10) Tools for editing STL networks.
Linear surfaces (circular, parabolic conoid).
11) Available 3D scanning options (creating a STL from a series of images).
Stramber trick, oblique passage.
12) 3D printer construction options.
Marseille and Montpellier arch.
13) Other modeling tools (cutting laser, simple horizontal cnc cutter).
Hyperbolic paraboloid (roofing).
14) Preparation of a semester project.
