Informal learning - max. 60% of credits gained in prior lifelong learning can be recognized, as determined by the Dean of the Faculty.

Finished secondary education with secondary school-leaving exam.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
The focus of the study area Contingency planning and crisis management are directed to the technical - organizational challenges to deal with emergencies and crisis situations. This is primarily technically oriented students who will be systematically prepared to deal with the management and implementation of activities under the pressure of working incidents.
Key Learning Outcomes
Key Lerning Outcomes are Expressed in following Structure: Knowledge, Skills, General competencies
Knowledge:
Graduate will be equipped with the necessary basis for naturalistic studies of sufficient scope to deal with complex technical issues having a foundation in mathematics and physics. The superstructure of the study will be equipped with theoretical knowledge needed to prepare for crisis situations within the work of rescue services, the IRS, that is, emergency and contingency planning.
Skills:
In the context of practice, students can confront their theoretical knowledge with practical needs, learn about the practical use of safety planning and activities of crisis management.
General competencies:
Graduates are encouraged to study in a series of seminar work autonomy and processed individually or in a specified group. The art of communication is developed as a separate subject and is also required to establish the ability to create and manage a team of students. Bachelor students can continue their studies in Master's study programs.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
Graduates meet the qualification requirement of public administration personnel working in this field. Range of expertise required is determined by the State Security Council resolution to work in public administration in the field of crisis management in 2007. In addition, graduates will find employment in the insurance, companies, private security services and the like.

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
