Summary
The course includes an explanation of the importance and method of prevention and preparedness for major accidents in the Czech Republic and the EU,provides an overview of recommended methods for risk assessment using practical examples and introduces students to the principles of emergency planning.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course is to inform students complex and comprehensively about the importance and method of prevention and preparedness for major accidents in terms of safety.

4. Possible situations and causes of accidents (What if, FMEA)
5. Probability and frequency of accidents (FTA, ETA)
6. Consequences of accidents (ALOHA)
7. Impact of accident to the property (Dow´s Fire and Explosion Index)
8. Impact of accident to the environment (Metoda H&V index)
9. Review of used preventive safety measures
10. Internal emergency plan
11. Emergency zone, External emergency plan
12. Emergency preparedness exercises
