Summary
By studying events that have occurred in the past, you can get the information you need to solve current problems. The Faculty of Safety Engineering has a modern CESIT simulation workplace equipped with the most modern technical equipment. The department has tools for creating simulations in the form of managerial models and 3D reality. With the help of simulations, it is possible not only to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to students, but to supplement the study with elements of practical experience gained by repeated solutions of model situations. The course is designed as a space for the use and verification of this acquired knowledge. The theoretical part is focused only on the revival of knowledge before the solution of the simulated event.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course is to enable students to verify the knowledge acquired during the study before solving a simulated event. Depending on the nature of the problem, managerial communication models will be used, resp. virtual reality.
The student is able to use the theoretical knowledge acquired during the study in their field.
The student is able to evaluate and interpret information about events from history and use the information and experience gained in solving the simulated event.
Course Contents
1. Introduction to the subject, presentation of goals and environment.
2. Preparation for the use of technical means and simulation environments at the Center for Simulation and Training Technologies - introduction to available technologies and their control
3. Case studies, as a means of evaluation and obtaining information on the possibilities of managing emergencies or prevention of extraordinary events in the industrial environment:
Block 1. Case study of industrial building control from the point of view of ocupational health and safety
o Simulation exercise using the XVR simulator - gradual inspection of an industrial building with emphasis on individual phases of inspection activities and detection of deficiencies
Block 2. Case study of emergency solution - selected industrial accident
o Preparation and implementation of solutions, evaluation of the current security situation in the building and its surroundings, documentation, emergency planning zones, involved entities - communication schemes, principles of cooperation and communication - simulation exercises of the "crisis staff of the organization"
Block 3. Case studies of solving an emergency associated with the transport of hazardous substances and wastes
o Preparation and implementation of solutions, evaluation of the current security situation, available documentation - communication schemes, principles of cooperation and communication - simulation exercises using the XVR simulator environment
Block 4. Case study of solving a technological accident in an SEVESO company
o Preparation and implementation of solutions, evaluation of the current security situation in the company, available documentation - communication schemes, principles of cooperation and communication - simulation exercises
