Summary
The subject includes explanation of basic terms for the study of major accident risk analysis and related legislation in the field of major accident prevention, understanding of safety management system and use of selected methods recommended in the Czech Republic and Europe for risk assessment. The course is completed with practical demonstrations and case studies from industry.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The course focuses on the basic knowledge obtained from the issue of major accident prevention. It´s important to clearly understand the definition of danger and risk connected with the selected dangerous substance release and to have needed knowledge for major accident prevention and preparedness.
After completing the course, student will be able to define the risk of major accident and apply suitable measures leading to minimization of this event. On the base of risk analysis, which is an essential part of risk assessment, student will know how to estimate the risk acceptability of identified scenarios. Obtained knowledge student apply in safety management system.
