Finished higher education in Bachelor's degree programme.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
The graduate of Telecommunications Technology branch gains a knowledge in the field of computer technology and telecommunications, multimedia, mediums for network transmission, signal processing and electronics. He also focuses on the technical and legislative aspects on the operation of communication systems and can design and manage communication networks of all types. In the master study, the graduate profiles in one of three directions, namely telecommunications and multimedia, optical communication and optoelectronics, mobile and radio communications. Practical laboratory training is carried out in conjunction and cooperation with experts of leading companies such as T-Mobile Czech Republic, O2 Czech Republic, CZ NIC, CESNET, Huawei, Unify, Ovanet, SAFIBRA and PROFiber Networking CZ. The graduates of Telecommunication Technology branch are sought by specialists in the market for their universal knowledge in the field of modern communication technologies.

Knowledge:
The course that follows up on the Bachelor’s studies of Telecommunication Technology is focused on the education of an engineer with a deeper theoretical basis and practical knowledge of modern telecommunication and information technology, including the application of the knowledge of light current electronics and communication technology in designing new equipment or systems. The basis consists of the subjects of theoretical and practical informatics, communication technology, optoelectronics and optical communication, and electronics. The student acquires knowledge in the field of mobile and fixed communication, modern network technology, telecommunication services, internet technology and services, security methods, and high-speed multimedia transfer. The student will become familiar with the designing and implementation of computer networks, database systems and distributed applications, as well as with various information techniques. Also, the students will be acquainted with the design of analogue and digital circuits and systems, and they can specialize in the problems of digital processing of speech, musical signals and picture signals.
Skills:
The graduates in the Master’s studies with an Ing. degree are able to specialize and adapt to the needs of practice and research, and they can continually deepen their knowledge in the branch. They will find employment as creative workers in research, technical development, design and control of communication and information networks and services, as well as in all fields of data, telecommunication, radio communication and information technology applications. They will acquire the knowledge and abilities that will enable them to work independently in teams dealing with projects in various fields of electronic communication.
General competencies:
The graduates in the Master’s course can manage independent work in the branch, decision making on technical and economic issues in the branch, and technical solutions. They can work independently and creatively when searching for the information sources in telecommunication technology, optoelectronics and optical communication, and multimedia technology, and are capable of critical assessment. They can see the ethical and social consequences of the development of the branch, handle independent management of professional teams, their coordination, and check the results of their work. They are capable of further studies and self-education, and have an appropriate knowledge of foreign languages. They are able to present technical issues, for themselves as well as for their employers within a broader context.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
The graduates in the Master’s studies will find employment mainly in the management of projects, production, development, and research, and in higher managerial positions, depending on the selected branch of study. The broad scope of expert knowledge constitutes an appropriate prerequisite for the positions of system integrators as well. The course provides the highest form of technical education in the given branch, and it gives the science-oriented graduates a chance to continue their studies in the doctoral course.

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
