Summary
The subject Advanced Network Technologies deals with three areas that are crucial to recent communication networks in the world of the Internet. Firstly, the MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) technology will be described and its applications – MPLS VPN, MPLS – Traffic Engineering, AToM, and VPLS. Further, attention will be paid to the data communication security in the Internet using various types of VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) with a focus on IPsec VPN (Internet Protocol Security Virtual Private Network). The third area of interest of this subject is the QoS (Quality of Service) issue in computer networks and its implementation using various QoS tools.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The objective of the subject is to understand the recent network technologies in the world of the Internet.
Learning outcomes are set so that the students are able to identify, apply and solve tasks of advanced network technologies.
