Summary |
---|
Physics I Practical Exercises follow the course of the first year Physics I. Their goaln is to practice and consolidate the knowledge gained in this previously lectured courses in mechanics and molecular physics. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students also acquire practical skills in relevant areas. |
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |
---|
Repeat and consolidate the knowledge learned in the subject Physics I.
Define and characterize the basic physical principles and laws.
Solve selected simple laboratory tasks and discuss their results. |
Course Contents |
---|
1. Introduction to laboratory safety.
2. Introduction to the theoretical basis of tasks and devices used in the laboratory.
Cyclical measurement of these tasks:
- Measurement of gravitational acceleration by means of a reverse pendulum,
- Measuring the dependence of the mathematical pendulum oscillation period on its length,
- Measurement of the momentum of inertia from the equation of motion,
- Coupled pendulums,
- Measurement of the elastic shear modulus from the wire torsion. Measurement of the oscillation frequency of the coupled oscillators,
- Measurement of the surface tension of liquid from the capillary elevation,
- Measurement of dynamic viscosity of gas from capillary flow,
- Measurement of volume expansion of liquids by the method of U-tube,
- Measurement of the Poisson constant by Clément-Desormes method,
- Measurement of the wavelength of sound in the air using Lissajous patterns,
- Measurement of the out-of-tune tuning fork frequency using the beats,
- Thermal conductivity measurement of metals.
- Seebeck thermoelectric effect |
