Summary
The theoretical part of the course deals with the application of modern light sources in cars. Emphasis is placed on explaining the principles and requirements of partial lighting systems. The requirements for car lighting and traffic lighting will be linked. The practical part of the course will focus on modeling the lighting parameters of low beam lamps and laboratory measurements of automotive lighting according to standards and requirements of the automotive industry.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
It is a superstructure course that develops students' knowledge of lighting technology in the field of automotive lighting. The course dominantly addresses the link between safety in the night traffic area and the radiation of cars at night in urban areas of cities and municipalities. The course will of course describe other lighting systems that are found in cars, their purpose and the link to the visibility of obstacles, the car itself, controls equipments, etc.
