Finished higher education in Bachelor's degree programme.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
Specialization Environmental Engineering is focused on acquiring knowledge about environmental chemistry, air, water and soil protection, waste management technologies, geoinformation technologies for environmental protection, and assessing the impact of industrial technologies on environmental components, including integrated prevention. In particular, chemical and chemical-technological aspects, as well as legal and administrative aspects related to this issue, are highlighted.

Knowledge:
Graduate of Environmental Engineering specialization has a deep knowledge in environmental pollution and application of possible technical and legislative solutions leading to the improvement of the quality of the environment.
Skills:
Graduate of Environmental Engineering is able to apply physical, chemical and physico-chemical knowledge in the design of environmental processes and equipment, and in the environmental assessment of industrial processes.
General competencies:
Graduate of Environmental Engineering will qualify qualitatively and quantitatively to characterize the environmental impacts of industrial activities and assess their management capabilities (EIA, SEA, IPPC); can perform expert activities in the field of applied chemistry and environmental protection.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
The graduate has the possibility of applying in the process (chemical, metallurgical, processing, food, etc.) industries in production, research and development positions, analytical laboratories as a separate chemist-analyst or in leading positions in these laboratories or as an expert for protection of the environment in chemical and other industrial enterprises. Furthermore, in companies and institutions engaged in consultancy, design and research activities in the field of the environment or in the government administration, environmental departments of municipal authorities. It can also find job in related fields of science, research and education.

Remark:
Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
