Summary
Students will learn to use all types of measuring instruments from analog to digital to virtual instrumentation. Students will be able to measure basic electrical quantities and passive elements by a number of methods. Special chapters are dedicated to expressing the uncertainty of the measurement result.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will learn to use electrical measuring instruments, measure basic electrical quantities and passive elements. An integral part of the student's competence is also the knowledge of quantification of measurement uncertainty..
Course Contents
Laboratories:
Measurement of voltage and current.
Measurement of passive components.
Influence of frequency and shape of the electrical signal to the measuring device.
Measurements with an oscilloscope.
Measuring the frequency and phase signals.
Virtual measuring devices, LabVIEW.
Instrument communication via GPIB interface.
