Summary
The subject links up to language skills in Russian acquired at secondary school. Its aim is to enrich the vocabulary, develop the knowledge of grammar structures necessary for oral and written communication and to use them in everyday situation at intermediate level. The instruction includes practising communication on the phone. The aim is to acquire language skills with the output level B1-B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Acquring enriched vocabulary and the necessary grammar for oral and written communication in Russian at intermediate level. Practising the phrases for telephone conversation. Perfecting the ability to hold a monologue/dialogue about everyday topics.
The aim is to acquire language skills with the output level B1-B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Course Contents
The Textbook of Contemporary English. Units 8-11.
1. Second conjugation and verbs to be (есть) and want (хотеть). Possible? (Можно?) – Forbbiden! (Нельзя!)
2. The declension of singular nouns in –ий, -ие, -ия. The structure of Russian sentences. The future and past tense of the verb to be. Negative form of the verb to be.
3. The future and past tense of the verb to have. The negative form of the verb to have. The nominative case forms of cardinal numbers 30-1000. Use of numbers 2,3 and 4 followed by a noun. Conjugation of reflexive verbs.
4. Verbs of motion. Infinitive sentences – questions.
5. The nominative of cardinal numbers 2000–billion. Ordinal numbers. Conjugation of verbs can and help (мочь/помочь).
6. Summary of the verb conjugation. Consonant alternations in verb conjugation.
7. The declension of feminine nouns (площадь). Making phone calls. Indefinite pronouns and adverbs.
8. The declension of plural masculine nouns. The declension of plural adjectives.
9. Grammar revision. Conversation on selected topics.
10. The declension of the plural neuter nouns.
11. Noun stem in ж, ш, ч, щ, ц. Conjugation of verbs in -овать/-евать.
12. Verb phrases интересоваться кем, чем/пользоваться чем. Conjugation of verbs дать/давать.
13. Declension of pronouns – plural forms. The conditional. Real and unreal conditionals Что бы они не говорили, мы будем их слушать.
14. Credit test.
