Summary
The subject extends the basic knowledge of physical chemistry on colloid systems. He is expected to complete basic chemistry courses in the field of thermodynamics, electrochemistry and chemical kinetics.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Passing the subject, students will be able to define and describe a selected chemical by the model equations. They will be able to plan an experiment to determine the selected physico-chemical quantities as well.

1. Introduction, dispersion systems, colloid chemistry
2. Thermodynamics of solids and liquids surfaces
3. Chemical processes on the surface, kinetics of chemical reactions on the surface
4. Adsorption and desorption in solid-gas system, description of adsorption, experimental methods
5. Adsorption and desorption in solid-liquid system, description of adsorption, experimental methods
6. Preparation and stability of colloidal systems, structure of colloidal micelles
7. Structurally mechanical properties of colloidal systems
8. The optical properties of colloidal systems
9. The kinetic properties of colloidal systems
10. the Electrical properties of colloidal systems
11. Experimental methods of colloidal system properties study
12. High-molecular-weight theory
13. Properties of colloidal systems of high molecular weight solutions, optical properties, aggregate stability, high molecular weight gels
14. Practical use of colloid systems for determination of selected properties of substances

EXERCISE FILL:
1. Introduction, content of laboratory exercises and requirements for obtaining credit
2. Coagulation of the hydrophobic AgI solution. Effect of gelatin and egg white on coagulation of AgI colloid
3. Determination of isoelectric point of gelatin and coagulation of egg white
4. Measurement of the zeta-potential of colloid Ag
5. Determination of the macromolecular weight of high molecular substance
6. Determination of the specific surface area using adsorption equilibrium
7. Measurement of the particle size using light scattering
