Summary
The course is focused on preparation of the experimental part of Diploma Thesis. Experimental work is usually carried out in laboratories of Departments, which are in charge of the study branch, or can be carried out at external laboratories. Experiments are performed under the auspices of tutors. Students can also prolong activities on the preparation of the theoretical part of their thesis, if it is necessary. In the frame of the course the final version of the Diploma Thesis will be completed and hand in.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will learn of solving engineering problems using appropriate experimental techniques. Under the auspices of tutors they will interpret gained experimental data. Students will deepen their knowledge and skills obtained in theoretical courses. Students will learn how to apply analysis and synthesis of experimental findings. The output of the course will be a final version of the Diploma Thesis.
Course Contents
1. Introduction of basic Safety rules at work in laboratories.
2. The choice of an appropriate combination of available experimental techniques for solving of the topic of the Diploma Thesis.
3. Experimental investigations in laboratories under the auspices of technicians.
4. Independent preparation of the experimental part of the Diploma Thesis by students.
5. Modification of the content of the experimental part of the thesis based on discussions with the tutor of the Diploma Thesis.
6. Preparation of a final version of the Diploma Thesis and its hand in.
