Profile of the Programme
The aim of bachelor study programme Thermal energetics engineering is the preparation of experts which will be able to succeed in the field of energy management, especially thermal energy, and have a good knowledge of ceramic materials related to thermal energetics as well.
Key Learning Outcomes
Key Lerning Outcomes are Expressed in following Structure: Knowledge, Skills, General competencies
Graduates of study programme prove sufficient knowledge in field of Thermal energetics and field of Ceramic materials, which are suitable for thermal processes as well. Except professional knowledge achieved in listed specialization, graduate also possesses soft skills and at least one foreign language. Graduate can operate computer technology, but is also able to work with chosen special software for solving problems, treatment data files, etc. Graduate is familiar with principles of statistic data evaluation, understand basics of physical and chemical phenomena. Graduate professional knowledge: • know basic technology in the field of gaining and using thermal energy in industry and communal sphere, • show knowledge of traditional and also alternative energetic sources, can describe combustion process of gaseous, liquid and dense fuels, has basic knowledge of combustions devices, • is familiarized with impacts of using of thermal energy on environment • masters in techniques of thermal treatment of wastes, • has knowledge in field of measurement of thermally-technical quantities, • manage numerical procedures and software means for treatment of numerical data and for solution of basic problems in transport of thermal energy, • graduate is introduced with manufacturing, properties, evaluation and usage of Ceramic materials.
Graduate professional skills: • graduate is able to evaluate ways of thermal energy management, • graduate is able to solve technical tasks requiring knowledge of physical basics of thermal energy transport, • can suggest measures preventing negative effect of thermally energetic processes on environment, • prove to evaluate energetic effectiveness of thermal processes, • can design simple thermally energetic systems and devices.
General competencies:
Graduate is qualified for professions in fields, which require knowledge of thermal energetics. Graduate is qualified to integrate his professional skills and computer literacy in conditions of the fourth industrial revolution.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
The graduates of the program may perform intermediate functions in a wide range of industries and the municipal sector, which produces or uses thermal energy in the production and use of materials for thermal processes, in the design of thermal energy systems and equipment, as well as in business, associated with thermal energy. Typical job positions: • Uaided heating plant operation • Unaided heating technology development • Unaided technique for developing thermal energy production • Stand-alone heating plant technologist • Head of biogas station • Operator and developer in the heating industry • Technologist in the heating plant • Unaided ceramic technician, technical operations manager • Ueparate ceramics technician
