Profile of the Branch
Students of The Transport Equipment and Technology study branch come from an engineering study basis and apply knowledge on the basis of basic subjects in the conditions of transport and shipment technology. A student is made acquainted with the basics of transport equipment construction, its diagnostics, maintenance, repair and economic operation. On the basis of the study of transport and shipment technology, logistics, the optimization processes and other specialized subjects, students are oriented on hauler operations and on commercial and conveyance activities in transport including their economic evaluation. The study branch is conceived so that a graduate is able to be connected to practical activities as soon as possible.
Key Learning Outcomes
Key Lerning Outcomes are Expressed in following Structure: Knowledge, Skills, General competencies
Knowledge:
The Transport Equipment and Technology study branch is based on engineering studies.Student graduate academic subjects primarily from mathematics and physics, vocational subjects such as machining, thermodynamics, machine parts and mechanisms, and special training subjects such as operation of vehicles, technology and management, reliability of transport systems, transport systems and transport economics.
Skills:
Based on the study of theoretical and applied technical, technological and economic disciplines supported by teaching subjects focused on information technology graduates are able to efficiently and using computer technology to plan and manage transport processes and those associated with the operation, maintenance and repair of vehicles. Processes are able to design and manage the taking into account all relevant factors, namely the safety and reliability of transport systems and operational specifics of transport, the knowledge of their economic efficiency and environmental impact. Other competencies include basic knowledge of equipment to existing legislation concerning traffic and transport, in transport equipment (vehicles, intended for technical equipment, etc.) and related normative legal acts.
General competencies:
Graduates of The Transport Equipment and Technology study branch find employment in rail, road and municipal transport companies as technicians operating means of transport, in the maintenance and repair of transport means and in companies with works transport. They can find employment in all kinds of transport companies and sections of companies and enterprises here and abroad. Graduates of the bachelor study can obtain higher technical positions in the operation of the means of transport, in service companies and in the maintenance operations of companies. They can find employment in big state-run companies and in private ones, and also in small companies which deal with transport and haulage and those activities connected with them.
