Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
---|
Qualification Requirements: |
---|
Finished secondary education with secondary school-leaving exam. |
Regulations: |
---|
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. |
Profile of the Branch |
---|
The aim of the specialization study is to prepare for study in a master's degree program or eventually to pursue a profession. The aim is to educate a graduate who has the required theoretical knowledge and corresponding practical experience in the field and specialization, which he can actively apply either in the follow-up master's degree or after entering the practice in solving technical assignments focused on products industrial design. |
Key Learning Outcomes |
---|
Key Lerning Outcomes are Expressed in following Structure: Knowledge, Skills, General competencies |
---|
Knowledge: |
---|
Graduates have adequate knowledge not only in the field of theoretical subjects, but especially in the areas of professional orientation in the field of engineering and industrial design. They have theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in industrial design. They know the history and current development of industrial design in the Czech Republic and abroad. They are able to use the knowledge gained in theoretical subjects as a basis for practical design of machine parts and the whole machinery.
They know the function of basic machine parts and they have knowledge about basic principles and design of selected types of production machines and equipment, their operation and maintenance.
|
Skills: |
---|
Graduates will acquire basic skills in industrial products designing with respect to aesthetic, ergonomic, functional, technological, economic and environmental aspects. They can actively use selected computer programs to create and visualize 2D and 3D design projects of manufacturing machinery and equipment, including other diverse industrial products. |
General competencies: |
---|
Graduates of the specialization will acquire knowledge of the main disciplines of mechanical engineering as a wide base for creative application in the field of industrial design, which they will use in the follow-up study and for further potential professional growth by various forms of lifelong learning. They are equipped with the skills and knowledge to enable them to grow professionally through their creative involvement in the production process or by continuing their studies. They are able, according to the situation and needs, to work individually or in a team, to recognize and formulate the essence of a technical problem and on the basis of the problem analysis to design, under given conditions, a realistic and feasible design solution of the product. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples |
---|
Graduates will find employment especially in the field of designing and modernization of production machines and equipment with a focus on the field of industrial design. They can be used wherever a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on industrial product design is required. Graduates are well prepared for study of master degree in industrial design. |
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
---|
Examination regulations, assesment and grading are described in the Study and Examination Rules. |
