Finished secondary education with secondary school-leaving exam.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
It is the first study branch and specialization of its kind conceived in the Czech Republic and accredited as a bachelor programme with a follow-up master study and it can continue as a PhD study “The Construction of Productive Machines and Equipment”. Graduates of this branch or specialization obtain knowledge on how to solve problems ensuring the operational reliability of machines and equipment. This covers the areas of technical diagnostics and the design of diagnostic systems, the management and planning of maintenance, lubrication and lubricating systems, solving operational life problems and other areas of knowledge and experience from the field of service operation for the productive machines and equipment including their construction.

Knowledge:
Graduates of this branch or specialization obtain knowledge on how to solve problems ensuring the operational reliability of machines and equipment. This covers the areas of technical diagnostics and the design of diagnostic systems, the management and planning of maintenance, lubrication and lubricating systems, solving operational life problems and other areas.
Skills:
The objective of the bachelor study (Bc.) is to educate students for the position of a maintenance manager and in the follow-up master study (Ing.) for the position of maintenance engineer. The graduates of this branch, respectively this specialization, find employment in the maintenance management branches of production companies as operational diagnosticians and diagnostic analysts, tribilogists, managers and so on. They can also become designers and planners ensuring the diagnostics and service of productive machines and equipment.
General competencies:
He becomes an expert and professional supported with deep knowledge and skills which enables his professional and creative development in the production and management, development of new solutions or continuation in the master and PhD study.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

The graduates of this branch, respectively this specialization, find employment in the maintenance management branches of production companies as operational diagnosticians and diagnostic analysts, tribilogists, managers and so on. They can also become designers and planners ensuring the diagnostics and service of productive machines and equipment. The graduates of the bachelor degree get technician’s and manager’s necessary knowledge during the study of theoretic, applied and field subjects. He is acknowledged with skills and knowledge which enables his creative integration into the production process or his continuation in the master degree. A graduate of the master degree gets a wide range of knowledge as a technician-manager during the study of theoretic, applied and field subjects. His specialization is the area of maintenance of the machines and equipment as a procedural technical activity. He becomes an expert and professional supported with deep knowledge and skills which enables his professional and creative development in the production and management, development of new solutions or continuation in the PhD study.

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
