Summary
Introduction to the general chemistry. Structure of the electron envelope and chemical bond. Periodic system of elements. Chemical reactions and their enumeration. Chemical kinetics and equilibrium. Electrochemical processes. Systematic chemistry. Elements and their most important compounds. Organic chemistry, hydrocarbons and their derivates. Metals and their production. Macromolecular substances. Fuel treatment.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Decreasing of the differences between the knowledge of chemistry of the absolvent, in comparison with the knowledge of gymnasium absolvent. Acquiring of the elementary nature-science findings in selected parts of chemistry, so as to be able to apply them to the comprehension scientific matters, which are in close relation with the technological processes. Seeking the relation between the position of the element in the periodic system and its chemical properties, as well as the properties of its compounds. Clarifying the basic terms from the area of atom build-up, chemical bonds, chemical kinetics and thermodynamics. Illustrating of their importance, when creating the reaction schemes for the purpose of significant organic and inorganic compounds synthesis.
