Summary
On the basis of IGIP subject of history of science and technology was included in the program of European technical universities. Its content focuses on providing global view of science and technology from the point of evolutionary cognitive process in specific conditions of human history. Course also enables obtaining of global history view in individual student’s technical field of study including interdisciplinary technical links. In subject methodology emphasis is laid on dependence of technology and natural sciences development in wider social connections, but at the same time on enormous meaning of natural sciences and technology in human history.
Seminar is especially focused on development of mechanics, machines and machinery and from industrial revolution on mechanical engineering as a new branch of industry.
