Summary
The course is intended for students of the Faculty of Economics with knowledge of Russian at intermediate and pre-intermediate levels. Teaching is focused on working with the current foreign language professional literature, passive and active processing of information obtained and presenting it in Russian. Part of the course is transmission of information on current economic and political situation in Russia, on cultural traditions, the social and societal phenomena in contemporary Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The course is aimed at enhancing language skills and knowledge of facts, getting an overview about the Russian economy. The expected output level is B1-B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

1. The economic situation in Russia and the living standards of the population.
2. Practical: awareness of the views of the partner.
3. Important sectors of the economy.
4. Prospects for the development of Russia.
5. Practice: request.
6. The European Union and Russia.
7. The policy of Russia in relation to the European Union.
8. Practical class: advice, suggestion.
9. The market and its features in Russia.
10. Practical activity: discontent, disapproval.
11. How to become a businessman?
12. Practice: a compliment. Concession, compromise.
13. Presentation.
14. Credit test.
