Summary
Various types of engineering materials are used in industrial practice. Checking their quality is a basic prerequisite for high quality product production and thus achieving market competitiveness. The basic assumption, how to control these materials, is knowledge of their production, technological processes, properties and standards that distinguish different materials.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Obtaining of knowledges about properties and using metallic and nonmetallic material in machine.
Course Contents
Lectures:
1. Technical alloys of iron, their distribution and marking.
2. Steels for forming, casting and casting irons.
3. Non-ferrous metals, plastics and other used materials.
4. Quality control of materials, material sheets, complaints.
5. General technical delivery and qualitative conditions of materials.
6. Dimensional standards, standards of limit deviations and tolerances.
7. Internal quality control, internal defects and verification methods.
8. External defects of the basic materials.
9. Verification of mechanical properties of materials.
10. Influence of the manufacturing process of structures on metallographic changes in materials.
11. Technological properties of materials.
12. Cutting of materials.
13. Verification of quality and inspection of welded joints.
14. Legislative processes for verification of welded joints.
