Summary
General principles, fundamental quantities of mechanics. Forces and their characteristics, Moments, Force systems – 2D, 3D, equilibration, congruence. Centre of mass, centre of gravity – lines, areas, volumes. Equilibrium of rigid body, the main form of links – in area and space. System of volumes. Principle of free body diagrams. Internal forces in structural members. Trusses – methods of solution. Friction, characteristic of coulomb friction, analysis of systems involving friction. Stability- the main definition. The basic form of analytical statics.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The students study at subject "STATICS" the basic method of mechanics - Free body diagram. It means - knowledge of the basic types of joins, creating of the system of equalibrium equations for all types of force systems and applicaton of the basic types of the friction. For 2-D beam, the target of the STATICS is the course of the internal force.
