Summary
Materials for the construction of boilers, the main ways the pressure of stress, creep, low cycle stress, heat fatigue, Corrosion, Creep strength, heat resistance, carbon steel, alloy steel, austenitic steel. Starting materials for strength design, the calculated pressure, temperature. Strength design of pressure parts of the system. Stress, design and reinforcement of the diaphragm walls.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The course is designed to study energy field machinery and equipment, specializing in ”building steam boiler ...“ and ”Nuclear energy facilities.“ Optional is the focus of ”Energy Industry“. Students will make knowledge of materials used, method of loading parts of the system pressure and strength calculations.
Course Contents
1. Construction materials used for the pressure system, the effectiveness of a Rankine cycle.
2. Marking steels according to EN 10027-1,2 of 2006, compared to steel brands, supply pipes, finish welding the edges.
3. Basic parameters for strength design, design pressure and temperature.
4. Basic properties of steels for pressure system. Creep resistance, creep and creep strength. Fatigue at elevated temperature.
5. Heat resistance, thermal processing of materials.
6. Thin and thick-walled container, the basic stress structure radial and tangential stresses.
7. Additional stress caused by the temperature difference between the outer and inner surface.
8. Stress during start-up and shut-down boiler, the impact on management start-up, shutdown and capacity control.
9. Diaphragm walls, their design, manufacture, and reinforcing their use.
10. Types of stress membrane walls, suspension systems and self-supporting.
11. Methodology for calculating the membrane walls.
12. Air and flue strain under vacuum and pressure, their reinforcement.
13. Reliability, residual life and controlled aging.
14. Technical life of the unit, residual life.
