Finished secondary education with secondary school-leaving exam.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Programme
The study programme Air Transport Technology (ATT) aims to prepare specialists in the wide range of the air operation, especially in areas such as air traffic, economy, safety and security of air transport, flight planning and monitoring, aircraft operation or aircraft maintenance. ATT study programme includes the following fields of study: *"Aircraft Maintenance technology" focused on the training of licensed aircraft maintenance personnel *"Aircraft Operation Technology" – focused on training of licensed aircraft operation personell (i.e. flight crews, air transport dispatcher, manager, ...) The degree to individual disciplines common first semester of science and engineering base, which has followed a different study of professional aviation courses to the needs of individual expertise. In the study branches Aircraft Maintenance Technology and Aircraft Operations Technology are included the theoretical modules required by aviation regulations for obtaining the appropriate licenses,which the students receive after completing the practical training which is no longer part of the study (at own expense) and passing exams at the Civil Aviation Authority.

Knowledge:
Graduates of this study programme have the following speciality knowledge: *knowledge of natural sciences and technical basis (mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering fundamentals, electrical engineering fundamentals, electronics and informatics) *knowledge of relevant international and national aviation legislation *knowledge of relevant aviation technical subjects by the requirements of the relevant aviation specialization (aircraft maintenance, professional pilot, air transport dispatcher, etc.) *adequate knowledge of Safety Management System in aviation *adequate knowledge of Human Factors in aviation
Skills:
Graduates of this study programme have the following speciality skills: *the ability to orient in the air transport environment *after obtaining sufficient experience the ability to work in various areas by the air operators (operation and maintenance of aircraft, flight planning and monitoring, customer relations, implementation and maintenance of safety standards, operational and economic analysis, etc.)
General competencies:
Students of this study programme are prepared so that graduates: *were able to self-judgment (always taking into account the potential risks) *were aware of their responsibility for aviation safety and security *were most communicative, including the ability to communicate in English *were always ready to learn in a constantly changing environment as a result of legislative and technological developments
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
Graduates of this degree program will be after completion of courses (and completion of relevant experience and testing in the Civil Aviation Authority at their own expense) prepared for a wide range of professions in the field of air transport operation, ie primarily in the following professions: The aim of the study is to provide students with appropriate academic education and vocational qualifications in the field of civil aviation in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Education Act and the requirements of the air regulations for carrying out particular professions listed below: *licensed aircraft maintenance engineer (the possibility of obtaining a license recognized within the EU) *licensed pilot in commercial air transport (to obtain a license recognized within the EU) *licensed flight controllers in commercial air transport (to obtain a license recognized within the EU) *specialist / manager at an air transport operator *specialist / manager at an airport operator, *specialist / manager an air training organization.

Remark:
Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
