Finished secondary education with secondary school-leaving exam.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
Field of study specified as Engineering Survey (bachelor’s curriculum) deals with issues focused to surveying the Earth's surface, compiling maps, and National Map Series of the Czech Republic. Students are to be familiar with mission of the geodesy, environment for measuring the geodetic values, basis methods for determining position and altitude of the points, and basic concepts as for the theory of errors. Geodetical surveying involves basic data needed for complex representation concerning the location of buildings in terrain as per the project, their dimensions, correctness of building performance, as well as compilation of their geodetic documentation. Processing of measured values and compilation of map documentation are tutored using the most modern software. Also legal and economic aspects of surveyor’s activities are taken into account.

Knowledge:
- General knowledge and understanding to the subject and scope of given profession - General knowledge as for theories, concepts, and methods of the discipline - Understanding to the potential, terms and conditions, and limitations in use of theories, concepts, and methods of the discipline in practice

- To solve practical issues of the discipline using professional knowledge based on general specification of the allocated tasks - To search, classify, and interpret the information relevant for solving of specified practical issue - To apply some basic research procedures of the discipline within the scope of needed for solving practical issues within said discipline

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
