Summary
The compulsory subject having curriculum as follows: Basic information about
purpose of statistics and statistical tools; Statistical terms, statistical
characteristics and dependencies; Definition of enumeration methods of some
statistical characteristics; Methodology of data collection, statistical
evaluation and practical interpretation. This subject is the only one with the
mathematical contents; regarding to this fact, the fundamentals of mathematics
topic is included, with emphasis to applications in common scientific
disciplines. The informatics topic gives the basics of informatics and
practical application demonstration, both is providing in the computer
laboratory. The instruction is guided through data processing and information
obtaining by different tools from different information resources, primarily
from own data resource files, and Internet environment. The factual content is
updated yearly, regarding to current face of computer science evolution and
(world) computer net possibilities.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
To present both traditional and non-parametric statistical methods for the assessment of geo-phenomena. To consolidate the knowledge of the current state of computer science, supplemented by actual knowledge and skills required in other technical courses of study.
