Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The understanding the hydrology processing with the main climate parameters.
Course Contents
1. Climatology and hydrology as science, the elemental terms, the importance, the development.
2. The elemental climatic factor of water circulation, formation and characteristic river system, characteristic river basin, geomorphology atribute of river valley, river bed.
3. Air temperature. Measurement. Daily and Annual cycle of air temperature. Psychrometer tables.
4. Air humidity – characteristics, measurement. Relative humidity. Daily and Annualy cycle this parameter. Psychrometric tables.
5. Precipitation – formation. Type of precipitation, measurement. Time and square distribution of precipitation – statistic method (method of isoline, method of polygon). Extreme value – rainstorm, index rainstorm for Czech republic.
6. Evaporation – evaporation of water level, evaporation of snow and of ice. Evaporation of soil. Transpiration. Measurement. Daily and annual cycle.
7. Hydrological balance.
8. The wind, characteristics. the wind speed and the direction, as the meteorology element. Their characteristics, their measuring, their interpretation. Annual cycle in Czech republic.
9. River level and her variation – water condition.
10 Measure instruments and data processing.
11.Transport in river. The longitudial and cross profile – the base parameter of river bed. Measurement stream flow rate, mathematical and graphical analysis of stream flow rate. River regime, type of river regime. Maximum and minimum river stream flow rate.
