Summary
Importance of reclamation in landcape regeneration processes. Technology of
landcape reclamation - types and methods. Importance of trees and greenery
elements for landcape reclamation. Determination of woody species (winter
vegetative period).
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

Course Contents
1. The importance of reclamation in the landscape renewal process. Basic terminology.
2. Changes in mining landscapes, methods of mining, management of mine waste and tailings.
3. Landscape planning in post-mining areas, financing, stages, methods and procedures of reclamation.
4. Distribution of remediation in relation to the final use of reclaimed land.
5. Reclamation during extraction of raw materials - principles, goals, specifics and methods - quarries, sand pits, gravel pits, deep mining.
6. Storage of waste and secondary raw materials, subsequent recultivation - principles, goals, specifics and methods.
7. Principles of technical reclamation, goals of technical reclamation.
8. Biological reclamation - principles and typology according to the reclamation goal.
9. Biological agricultural reclamation.
10. Biological forestry reclamation.
11. Biological hydraulic reclamation.
12. Biological reclamation others.
13. Natural regeneration of vegetation in the mining landscape.
