Summary
Basic overview of common concepts of geoinformation technologies like geodata, features, object view, field view and process view of real world, data models, data gathering, etc. Attanetions is gaved to individual technologies like GIS, remote sensing, global navigation satellite systems, digital terrain models, etc.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the subject is to teach students basics of geoinformatics and geoinformation technologies, use them to complete diffrenet tasks, to design adequit data models to portray real world.

1. Real World and its presentation. Earth Sciences.
2. Geoinformatics and geoinformation technologies. Definition of basic concepts.
3. History, Present and Future of Geoinformatics.
4. Space. Different concepts of space.
5. Positioning in space.
6. Time. Different concepts of time. Positioning in time.
7. Feature. The components to describe features.
8. Data models. Data modeling. Data structures.
9. Raster data model. The vector data model.
10. Getting geodata. Primary geodata.
11. Derived geodata. The quality of geodata. Metadata.
12. Geographic Information Systems. Remote Sensing.
13. Global navigation satellite systems. Digital terrain models. Mobile geoinformation technology.
