Summary
The aim of the course is to apprise students with the character of the transmitted signals, the issue of digitization and digital transmission systems used for metallic and radio transmission paths. Emphasis is placed on principles and on transmission technologies used in transport and access networks and security mechanisms for synchronization and faultless transmission of signals.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim is to gain insight in the use of ICT. Student demonstrates knowledge of digital systems used in fixed radio and transport networks , from copper access technologies, ISDN and xDSL technology and WLL and security of the transmission signals. Students can describe the PDH , SDH , ATM , WDM , GSM, configure network components and analyze the IP network connection . Student is able to implement structured cabling, LAN configured and running .
