Contens of the subject is to introduce development, terminology of water management and its existing problems. |
Course Contents |
---|
1. Water and its basic physical and chemical properties, group states, water cycle in nature.
2. Natural waters, atmospheric, surface, ground, mineral, marine and their basic characteristics.
3. Drinking and service waters, quantity and quality requirements, balance of needs.
4. Wastewater, sewage, industrial, mining and their characteristics.
5. Watercourses and objects on watercourses
6. Rainwater, water balance, water pollution.
7. Water supply, abstraction, transport, storage and drinking water supply.
8. Water treatment, overview of basic processes and equipment for surface and groundwater treatment.
9. Wastewater and stormwater drainage - sewerage.
10. Wastewater treatment, an overview of basic processes and equipment at wastewater treatment plants.
11. Organisation and management of water management in the Czech Republic, overview of basic statistical data.
12. Floods and droughts. Flood protection and drought mitigation.
13. Water management legislation - Water Act and Water Supply and Sewerage Act, implementing regulations to the Act. |
