Summary
The content of the course is a practical solution of brownfield - building and area, and evaluation of the impact of brownfield on environmental components (biota, soil). The project plan (scenario) of brownfield restoration is chosen by the students themselves and is characterized in broad terms, based on field research.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The main goal of the specialized field training is to apply the project teaching into practice. Students have the opportunity to test their theoretical knowledge acquired during their studies and expand the practical skills and knowledge they acquire under the guidance of experts from various fields. Students will learn to work with professional sources and, above all, they will be guided to critical thinking and classification of acquired information. In the final day, students present the results of their projects. Exercise supports soft skills.
Course Contents
1. Instruction for specialized field practice.
2. Introduction to the issue (selected aspects of passportisation and brownfield evaluation).
3. Introduction to model territory.
4. Provision of available model area data from various information sources.
5. Choice of intention.
6. Processing expertise scattering studies of the project in the model area.
7. Introduction to basic information sources (including legislation and guidance).
8. Introduction to used SW equipment.
9. Evaluation of the impact of intention on nature and landscape protection interests.
10.Realization of survey of plants and animals (in cooperation with an expert).
11.Pasportization and evaluation of brownfields.
12.Processing of final report and presentation.
13.Project defense.
