Summary
The course is focused on teaching general and inorganic chemistry. The aim of the course is to acquire basic concepts of general chemistry (atomic structure, chemical bond, reaction kinetics and thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium). Also be aware of the interrelationship and interconnection of these concepts. Further apply knowledge of general chemistry to properties and behavior of important elements and their compounds. Last but not least, to teach students the occurrence, production and use of important elements and their compounds.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Assumption of basic conceptions of atom construction, chemical bonds, reaction kinetic and thermodynamic. Learning of interrelationship and connection of these conceptions - periodicity of element properties.
Application of knowledge from basic chemistry of element system. Learn working with periodic table - be able deduce basic chemical and physical properties of elements.
