Summary
This subject deals at the first with stress and deformation state of rock mass
before mining activities. Than follow on changes in the rock mass during
mining activities. Separately it is explained for linear mine workings and for
large mining workings. For mining methods with pillar leaving, dimensioning of
that pillar is important. At mining methods like long walking stress-
deformation state of rock mass is important for right choose of technological
arrangements. The attention to the anomalous rock mass behaviour is paid.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The course aims to acquaint students with the characteristics of the original
přetvárného state of stress and rock mass and its changes during the excavation
mine and subsequent conquest. Students should use the knowledge of the subject of rock and soil mechanics to practical calculations with regard to the design of reinforcement, and forecasts of anomalous phenomena.
Course Contents
Syllabus of lectures:

1st Characteristics of geostatic and primary sress field in rock mass.
2nd Changes in the rock mass around mine excavations (influenced stress-strain field).
3rd Classification of rock mass (rock mass rating and other systems), evaluation
stability of rock walls in the quarries.
4th Stress changes around rock pillars, sizing of rock pillars.
5th Stress-strain changes and conditions at open faces mining methods under different fixed overburden.
6th Classification of overburden rocks in longwall mining.
7th Determination of excavation reinforcement in the flat conditions and inclinaded layers.
8th Influences the stress distribution around the faces and the deformation conditions in the excavated space.
9th Factors influencing the emergence of rock bursts, the prognosis of rock bursts.
10th Factors influencing the emergence of rock and gas outbursts, outbursts of gas forecast and rocks.
11th Compressibility of the filling, the issue of determining the possibility of influencing, the course elementary compression of excavated area.
12th Mining geomechanics modeling - mathematical modeling photoelasticimetric modeling, equivalent materials modeling.
13th Monitoring of stress and strain changes in the mountain massif, geomechanical monitoring.
