Summary
The course deals with physical and chemical basics of thermochemical conversion of waste, necessary machinery, legislation framework of incinerators and waste disposal facilities. Next, the students will learn about effective utilization of all types of fuel, especially secondary energy sources represented by combustible industrial waste, agricultural and municipal waste.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Knowledge of waste management in terms of their removal and their efficient material and energy recovery. Ability to distinguish different approaches, to estimate and find best solutions for a specific problem of waste management. Students will be able to obtain information for work experience, demonstrate a general overview and evaluate the issue. Compare different approaches and the practical side of them. Being able to produce results and solve them independently.
Demonstrate ability to communicate (active both writing and speaking), manage technical terminology.
