Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

The aim of the course is to provide information to students in the field of geodetic calculations on the sphere and rotating ellipsoid and further address the question of the local and global geodetic control. |

Syllabus
1. Basic parameters of the earth ellipsoid and their mutual relations.
2. Coordinate systems on the Earth's rotational ellipsoid.
3. Relations between coordinate systems on the ellipsoid.
4. Basic concepts and relations on the reference sphere. Solution of spherical triangles.
5. Solving fundamental geodetic problems on the sphere.
6. Solving the fundamental problems on Earth's elipsoid.
7. Basic concepts of three-dimensional geodesy. Coordinate transformations.
8. Fundamental methods of Space geodesy for determination of coordinate systems
9. Earth’s Orientation Parameters.
10. Basics of GNSS technology.
11. Global coordinate system ICRS
12. Global coordinate system ITRS
13. Theory of heights.
