Summary
In its first part, the course introduces students to the functioning of companies and organizations and explains the basic concepts (company assets, labor force, costs, revenues, economic result and business efficiency criteria).
The second part of the course focuses on the economy and management of both business entities (travel agencies, transport companies, accommodation and catering facilities) and state organizations in tourism, namely supply, demand and competition in the tourism market and economic aspects of doing business in tourism. It also deals with the airbnb and current trends in tourism.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Characterize business and enterprise in tourism. Understand the economic aspects of business in tourism, explain the issue of supply, demand and competition in the tourism market. To acquire knowledge of theoretical basis for management of business entities in tourism. Evaluate the impact of airbnb on tourism.
