Information about the commencement of the construction CEET(e) and New Building of the Faculty of Economics

In connection with the construction, there will be a deterioration of comfort in the vicinity of the buildings, whether due to increased noise, dustiness, movement of machinery, but compliance with the prescribed hygiene limits will always be checked. At certain times, the neighbouring buildings will be disconnected from the utilities (water, electricity, gas), but only for the necessary period of time. The users of the buildings concerned will be warned of this in advance, e.g. information will be posted at the main entrances or on the InNET.

The access of construction vehicles will be on the road from Studentská Street through barrier No. 3.  We ask you to observe safety measures in the vicinity of the construction sites, observe the prohibition of access to the construction areas, and increase attention and safety on the roads affected by the construction.

1. CEET(e) building

On 13 December 2021, the construction site for the investment project CEET(e) – Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies will be handed over. The site will be defined by the IET and the university kindergarten buildings. In the first phase, site preparation will be carried out, which is expected to last until the beginning of March 2022, depending on weather conditions. The second phase – the construction of the CEET(e) building itself – is expected to be a seamless continuation of the first phase. The site will be secured against unauthorised access by fencing.

During the works, it is necessary to take into account that the access to the rear entrances of the IET building will be worse and there will be partial restriction of parking areas in the vicinity of the IET.

2. Construction of the New Building of the Faculty of Economics – H extension

On 20 December 2021, the construction site will be handed over to the New Building of the Faculty of Economics contractor in the Ostrava-Poruba campus. The construction site will be demarcated by fencing with appropriate security markings to prohibit unauthorised access in the following days.

With the commencement of construction and handover of the site, the parking spaces at Building H and the parking spaces around the green area between Building H and CPIT are cancelled.

Persons directly affected by the construction, either by affecting the classrooms or laboratories in Building H or restricting access to Courtyards E-F and F-G, were contacted by the Investment and Property Unit earlier. If there is still someone with whom the restrictions have not been discussed, they should contact the Investment and Property Unit.

During the course of the construction work, structural modifications will be made to Building H. We will inform you about this in advance by mass e-mail.

In connection with the construction of both buildings, we ask for your patience and sometimes also for your benevolence in the event of restrictions that may arise during the implementation of such large construction projects.

Intensive construction activity will start after the New Year 2022.
